FANGTASTIC HORROR GUESTS AT CAMDEN FILM FAIR 2016!

collage-camdenfilmfair16

THE FILM FAIR CAMDEN – SATURDAY 13th FEBRUARY 2016

Now in it’s 31st year, The Film Fair at Camden just keeps getting bigger and better and starts off 2016 with three special guests who have all made an impact in the world of horror! First up is the British horror legend Emily Booth, star of numerous independent horror films (including Evil Aliens, Doghouse, Inbred), magazine columnist, writer, producer, director and presenter on the Horror Channel – is there anything this girl can’t do?

Next we have movie poster artist Graham Humphreys who has gained legions of fans over the years due to his amazing talent and winning personality. Throughout the eighties Graham designed and illustrated UK movie campaigns such as Dream Demon, Basket Case, Evil Dead and the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and today seems busier than ever with his work on numerous DVD releases, various commissions as well as exhibitions of his work.

Finally we have popular television star Nicholas Ball who appeared in arguably the greatest ever episode of the Hammer House of Horror tv series – “The House That Bled to Death”! Ball has also starred in EastEnders, Footballers’ Wives, the sci-fi horror movie Lifeforce and the successful detective show Hazell.

There are also a whole ton of stalls specialising in movie memorabilia, horror merchandise, monster magazines, DVDs, posters, T-shirts, books and so much more for the dedicated film and horror fan and this all takes place at the legendary Electric Ballroom from 10:00am – 4:00pm – right next to Camden Town tube station – and the entrance is only £3 for adults!!!

The Camden Film Fair is looking to expand and is particularly interested in traders who deal in comics, vinyl (including movie soundtracks), movie related toys (including Star Wars and other fantasy blockbusters old and new), horror film clothing and collectibles and Manga merchandise so if you would like to book a stand or require more information just email Camden Film Fair at info@midnight-media.net – or you can call on 01832 731774 (10am – 6pm).

2016 DATES FOR THE FILM FAIR @ CAMDEN…

THE RETURN OF “HORROR-ON-SEA”!

horroronsea2016

In January this year, Space Monsters editor and publisher Cyberschizoid (AKA Richard Gladman) popped down to Southend for Horror-on-Sea 2015 with scream queen Dani Thompson to watch a screening of indie horror film Serial Kaller. We had such a blast that we thought we would spread the word about Horror-on-Sea 2016 taking place over TWO weekends in January!

Here is the official word from Festival Director Paul Cotgrove:

“Well, we’re all set for Horror-on-Sea 2016, and what a line up we have for you!

In fact, the response from filmmakers has been so great that, once again, we’ve extended the festival over the following weekend. So, at Southend, the horror never ends – or, rather, it lasts for two whole weekends!

As before, many filmmakers will be joining us, and the bar will once again be a hive of activity between screenings as they chat to festivalgoers. We are the ‘friendly festival’, and you can be sure of a warm welcome as you step out of the January cold.

In addition to the wonderful line up of ‘horrorific’ films, all supported by tasty shorts, our good friend, and local horror legend, Pat Higgins, will be back with another Masterclass, “Watch Horror. Write Horror. Make Horror”, at which he will inform and entertain in his own inimitable style. That will be followed by the World Premiere of his new film The House on the Witchpit, a ‘festival first’ in that he is revealing nothing at all about this – not even a teaser trailer – in advance, and it will never again be shown in this version! So do join Pat for ‘Secret Cinema’, the Higgins way! We are also delighted to be hosting the World Premiere of The Snarling, Pablo Raybould’s horrifically scary and very funny take on a classic movie monster that will be a highlight of the festival.

So why not make a real break of it, and stay at the festival venue, the Park Inn Palace Hotel, for the first weekend? Special festival rates are just £65 for B&B for one night (single or double occupancy) or £130 for B&B for three nights (single or double). Call 01702 455111 and quote “Horror-on-Sea”.

Tickets-wise, best value of all are the weekend passes, saving you a massive £45 over the entire festival, but excellent value day passes are also available, and individual tickets are only £5. So grab your tickets while you can, and I’ll see you at ‘Spooky Southend’ in January.”

For more details check the Horror-On-Sea website at http://www.horror-on-sea.com

CAROLINE MUNRO…NOBODY DOES IT BETTER!

collage 2015 C

As we continue to celebrate the life and work of Caroline Munro this week here at Space Monsters magazine, we thought we’d take a moment to acknowledge how hard Caroline works even when she’s not making movies and television shows, being interviewed or writing magazine columns. Munro is one of the most sought after guests for film events and horror conventions due to her back catalogue of Lamb’s Navy Rum ads and Hammer horror films as well as being a James Bond girl, sci-fi heroine and long-standing scream queen and 2015 has been one of her busiest years ever!

Caroline’s next convention appearances are at the ODP Celebrity Autograph Convention in Blackpool on the 24th October and a week later she is a Special Guest at WynterCon in Eastbourne – the South Coast’s biggest and best fantasy, sci-fi and horror convention. As well as signing publicity stills, Munro will also be selling autographed copies of her very own magazine The Official Caroline Munro Magazine which folds out into a huge poster! These can also be ordered from Amazon.co.uk at a special discounted price for this week only!
