Wyntercon is the premier multi-genre event on the South Coast of England. Now in it’s second year, boasting a bewildering array of attractions, events and fun for the whole family. If you’re into science-fiction, comics, steampunk, role-playing games, cosplay, classic horror or anything a bit out of this world, then there will be something for you!

Returning to the Winter Garden, in the heart of Eastbourne, this year’s convention takes place from 31st October to 1st November 2015 and is definitely THE place to be this Halloween!

Special guests include horror stars Caroline Munro (Dracula AD 1972, Maniac, I Don’t Want to be Born) and Emily Booth (The Horror Channel, Evil Aliens, Doghouse) alongside Farscape‘s Virginia Hey, Doctor Who‘s Terry Molloy, Red Dwarf‘s Norman Lovett, Space:1999 and Star Wars actress Pam Rose and many more!

Special attractions include the Classic Horror Zone sponsored by Space Monsters, Cosmo’s Toys and Shocker Magazine; Tim Burton’s Batmobile; the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones and the ED-209 robot from Robocop!

You will also find tons of comic book artists; more special guests (including publisher Dez Skinn and author Robert Rankin); a myriad of merchandise stalls; interactive and creative events for the kids; Cosplay Competitions and much more!

In the evenings there are separate events – The Retro Alien Invasion Cabaret on Friday 30th October and The Wyntercon Halloween Party on Saturday 31st October hosted by Horror Host and actress Bunny Galore – so dress to impress!

FILM4 FrightFest is the UK’s première international fantasy and horror film festival. Founded in 2000 it’s now in its 16th year. Each August FrightFest attracts thousands of genre fans to the heart of London’s West End to enjoy five packed days of premieres, previews, personal appearances, signings and surprises.

The FrightFest organisers have this to say –

“Our aim is to provide the UK with a horror fantasy festival of similar stature to the market leaders worldwide.  Famously described as “The Woodstock of Gore” by Guillermo del Toro, FrightFest hosts three main events each year plus numerous one-off screenings.  The Festival has evolved into a community where audiences and guests alike travel from all over the world to be part of the event’s unique atmosphere.

Space Monsters Magazine and Wyntercon are set to invade the first birthday celebrations of London Road’s Open Market with a feast of beasts, babes, and B-movies!


The Monster Market runs from July 18th through to July 31st inclusive from 10am to 5pm daily (closed Sundays). The stall includes a host of movie and television memorabilia, posters, DVDs and books, as well as Space Monsters Magazine and Space Monsters t-shirts. Many of these will be in exclusively discounted bundles or limited editions.

The stall will also be promoting the second annual Wyntercon.


Wyntercon is Eastbourne’s award-winning, multi-genre convention, encompassing fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and alternative culture for fans of all ages. Set in the historic and picturesque Winter Gardens, the convention runs from October 31st through to November 1st, and will feature a Magic: The Gathering tournament. Confirmed guests so far include comic artist Richard Starkings, publishing legend Dez Skinn, horror stars Caroline Munro and Emily Boothgenre entrepeneurCyberschizoid and actors Virginia Hey, Terry Molloy, Spencer Wilding, Pam Rose and Julian Seager.

Our fiends at the Camden Film Fair are proud to announce three very special guests at their next event “Ladies of Hammer Day” on Saturday 27th June from 10am – 4pm….Shirley Anne Field (The Damned, Peeping Tom, Horrors of the Black Museum), Irene Bradshaw (Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde, The Avengers, Whitechapel) and Caron Gardner (The Evil of Frankenstein, Goldfinger, Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed)!

 At the last film fair there was a surprise appearance by a rather sexy vampire who wowed the crowds outside and proved a massive hit with the tourists and Hammer Glamour girls Valerie Leon and Martine Beswick! We hear rumours of another surprise guest on Saturday 27th June so come along and join in the scary fun!
